This rare edition of the classic children's tale of an animated marionette includes full-color illustrations by Attilio Mussino. Printed in Italy by R. Bemporad & Figlio. Aside from a smudge here and there and a hint of foxing, this is an exceptionally clean copy with no writing, marks, underlining, or bookplates. The navy blue boards are flat and true, though there is no jacket, so they do show some edge wear and bumping to the corners. Rear board also has some light scratches toward the bottom edge. The spine cover is a bit tattered at the top and bottom extremes. It is also a bit faded, but the title is intact and still fairly bright red. There is a 2" tear along the lower edge between the front board and the spine cover through which you can see the binding, but it is all still attached. The embossed figure of Pinocchio that takes up the majority of the front board is only slightly worn and has also retained its colors.
